- WorkshopJuli Bierich and Lucca Lutzky – International Residency
We were glad to host Juli Bierich and Lucca Lutzky for a short residency at the former Funkhaus in Vienna. During this time, they developed ‘I can no longer remember and neither can you’, a work that explores translation and miscommunication through improvised performance, sound, and movement.
Juli Bierich is a German-Japanese artist based in Antwerp. Her performances explore the ‘in between’ of public and personal space. Using game-like structures, she creates playful works that often provoke unpredictable outcomes. The body serves as a necessary component to her work and can be regarded as a documentary canvas for these encounters between performer, artist and audience.
Lucca Lutzky was born in Southern Brazil and works between Paris and London. He is a filmmaker who creates mundane yet allegorical worlds, shaped by a strong sense of color and minimalism. Through quiet observation and subtle gestures, his films exist in the space between the intimate and the unsettling.
